1974 saw the first Knebworth Festival take place in the superb grounds of Knebworth House. Led Zeppelin were originally meant to play at this festival but it wasn't until 1979 that they finally made it to Knebworth, playing two consecutive Saturdays on 4 & 11 August. "...Van Morrison's contract contained a clause stating that he could terminate his performance if he did not like the look of the audience. In the event we couldn't get him off stage he was having such a good time..." Freddy Bannister (Promoter)

The 1974 programme consisted of the Allman Brothers Band, the Van Morrison Show, the Doobie Bros, the Mahavishnu Orch, featuring John Mclaughlin and Jean Luc Ponty, the Sensational Alex Harvey Band and Tim Buckle

The poster was designed by Ian Beck who amongst other commissions designed the record cover for Elton John's Good Bye,Yellow Brick Road.

The poster sze is 30" x 20" (76cm x 50cm)
